Chelsea is a New York City neighborhood that lies on the West Side of Manhattan. It has great restaurants, iconic sights such as the High Line and the Chelsea Market. With a 200 ha or 2 square kilometers land area, it is home to more than 200 art galleries and is considered a major center for contemporary art in New York City. Fun fact: Chelsea contains the Chelsea Historic District, which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1977, and expanded in 1982 to include contiguous blocks containing particularly significant examples of period architecture.
Are you ready to take a trip to Chelsea with me? Before anything else, let’s stop by the Chelsea Market! It is hands-down one of the best food halls in NYC. From tacosThaithai to doughnuts, cheese, and gelato, you can find superb selections for pretty much any craving. In addition to that, Chelsea Market is home to some seriously awesome stores. You’ll find everything from gifts and flowers to home goods and gourmet specialty foods. And don’t miss the Artechouse, which has immersive art installations, a salon where you can get a haircut or find the perfect wine. Our next destination is a multi-purpose enclosed arena in Manhattan. The famous Madison Square Garden! It is usually used for sports, including professional basketball and ice hockey, and wrestling. If you’re a fan of Taylor Swift or Ariana Grande, well- the Garden is also used for a variety of other entertainment and performances, including concerts, shows, and much more.
Long weekend getaway with your loved ones? Sprawling across Manhattan’s West Side beside the Hudson River, the area is a hotbed of creativity: its unorthodox spirit having brought us such delights as mesmerizing theater and vodka pizza topping. Immerse yourself in Artechouse’s digital art! It’s America’s first dedicated space to art, science, and technology. The trippy exhibitions here overwhelm your senses with music, lighting, and sound effects. There are many shows with previous themes, including the color blue or geometric shapes. Although tickets are expensive, cutting-edge tech is not cheap. Suppose skating is your cup of tea, take a visit to the Chelsea Piers Sky Rink. It’s open to the public most afternoons, with lessons in freestyle and ice hockey available at other times. Skate rental costs extra on top of the entry fee, so bring your own if you have them. Our last stop: Artichoke Basille’s Pizza. The super-sized slices come in a variety of flavors, including cream sauce, vodka, cream sauce, and bestseller spinach-artichoke. The Chelsea outpost of the chain serves beer, wine, as well as plenty of seating. It’s a popular spot late at night – the slices keep coming until 5 am.
